Step into the Hall
Mead Halls were traditionally the main focus of any Norse village. These were places to conduct and officiate business. They were places to get out from harsh weather and enjoy good times with good friends. Our Mead Hall was built on these traditions.
Something for Everyone
Any day of the week you can find people in the Mead Hall enjoying delicious meads and mead cocktails. People come to the Hall to reconnect with family and friends and create new bonds. The Mead Hall features many events and activities for all to enjoy. There is music and trivia. Customers play card games like “Magic The Gathering” and play out epic campaigns of Dungeons and Dragons. It is a beautiful spot for events of all varieties from weddings, graduations, baby showers and celebrations of life.
A Hall is Born
Drinking Horn owners Evan and Kelly wanted to create a communal space that was welcoming to people from all walks of life, and that would take customers back in time to experience a traditional Mead Hall while enjoying a traditional mead. Mead Halls historically were a place where both business and family life came together. If you came into a new village the first place you would visit was the town Mead Hall where you were greeted and cared for. These halls would be places that officiated business dealing as well as the place to celebrate holidays and functions both big and small.

Traditional (13% ABV) Made with just water, yeast, and orange blossom honey, our traditional mead is dry and smooth while still retaining strong notes of flavor from Flagstaff's own Mountain Top Honey: the supplier of all Drinking Horn's honey. Pairs well with steak, crab, or any night of Viking feasting!
Strawberry (13% ABV) A sweet, slightly tart delight. Enjoy the taste of summer all year round! Very tasty with brie and blue cheeses and great for a mead reduction to put on your ice cream.
Apple (13% ABV) Mixed green and red apples are crushed and added into fermentation with the honey. Lightly sweet and bubbly, our apple mead is enjoyed both cold and hot. Treat yourself to the taste of autumn no matter the season. Tasty in Bengal spice tea for a warm fall cocktail or add some cinnamon and whiskey for a delicious apple mead-tini. Pairs well with Proper Meat’s Pork Barbecue Sandwich.
Pomegranate (13% ABV) A tart, bubbly, dry mead with pomegranate: the popular, great tasting, health-friendly fruit. Bring it with you to Sunday brunch and mix it with orange juice for a tasty mead-mosa! Pairs well with lamb dishes.
Blue-Tooth (13% ABV) Juicy and still, this blueberry mead takes its name from King Harold “Bluetooth” Gormsson who united the Danes. Full of blueberry flavor. This mead pairs well with Famous Pizza, Proper Meat’s Italian Beef Sandwich, Proper Meat’s Proper Cobb Salad, lemon cake, blueberry French toast, lime leaf tonic, and soft cheese. Mix with strawberry seltzer water.

Meadjito (13% ABV) Our orange blossom honey received some summer tiki editions with Lime juice, spearmint, and a little molasses for the rum characteristics of the Cuban beach libation! A great addition to any dish from our neighbors, Martanne’s. Bring on the summer!
Mango Reaper (13% ABV) A little spicy and a little sweet. This combination of mango and reaper and ghost peppers will bring just enough bite to your glass. Don’t be afraid! We think this one’s heat is just right! Absolutely perfect in a mead bloody mary or with your favorite pulled pork dish.
Lemon Ginger (13% ABV) This mead is a tasty balance between citrus and spice. This bubbly mead is great in a mule style cocktail, and delectable all on its own. Pairs with Proper Meat’s Bahn Mi Sandwich, coleslaw, gin, and a hot summer day!
Elderberry (13% ABV) Made with elderberries from our local friends, Terra Birds, this mead is bubbly, semi-sweet and a great anytime beverage. Pairs well with red meat, and breakfast burritos. “Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries” -French Soldier, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Coffee (13% ABV) Mead with Coffee uses the Costa Rican medium roast from the fine folks at Single Speed Coffee Roasters here in Flagstaff. Notes of honey, molasses and citrus are found in these beans. This coffee mead pairs great with pancakes, eggs, and bacon as part of a complete balanced breakfast! Delicious mixed in eggnog.
Plum (13% ABV) Available in house only! Super dry with a nice plum aroma. The honey is our classic orange blossom and wildflower mix, with the plums being hand-picked by us down in the Verde Valley at our undisclosed orchard! Perfect with Karma Sushi’s Dragon roll or in a bloody mary.
Black Cherry (13% ABV) Sweet and tart black cherries are blended to make this semi-sweet mead a seasonal favorite. Pairs best with Proper Meat’s Warm Pastrami Sandwich, barbecue, ribs, and smoked anything. Mix half and half with limeade to make a delicious black cherry limeade.
Root Bee-Ah (12% ABV) Not all beverages are created equally. Root Bee-Ah is made with honey, cascarilla bark, licorice root, wintergreen leaves, and red spruce tips that give it a taste on point with root beer. Tastier than your dad's root beer, and finer than your momma's mead. Pairs well with pizza and vanilla ice cream. This batch is sure to please.
The New Mexican (13% ABV) A beautiful fusion of floral flavors from the hibiscus and mild spicy notes from the green chilis that pair perfectly with the orange blossom honey. Great with any Mexican meal or treat from Martanne’s Cheese Enchiladas to tres leches.
Peach (13% ABV) Lightly sweet and delicious, this peach mead was made with white and yellow peaches. They blend so well with the orange blossom honey you will think it’s summer regardless of when you drink it!
Prickly Pear (13% ABV) This seasonal mead was made in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Grand Canyon NationalPark. Desert wildflower and desert orange blossom honey are mixed with the fruit from this desert cactus to make a mead that highlights the beauty of the desert. Mix with margarita mix to make a delicious prickly pear mead-arita. Pairs well with Martannes‘ Mexican Food.
’Merica (13% ABV) Our most patriotic mead yet! Blueberries and hibiscus were added to this mead to make a beautiful blend of fruity and floral. Pairs best with Proper Meat’s Turkey Club, hot dogs and fried chicken. Because 'Merica!
Mead with Hops (*bottles only) (13% ABV) A delicious fusion of orange blossom honey and hops added post fermentation (Dry-Hopping). Carbonated and dry, this mead pairs with Pizza and great friends!
Pineapple (*bottles only) (13% ABV) Light, sweet and full of pineapple, it is great on its own and also a fantastic cocktail addition. Pairs well with pulled pork, summer fun and everything from Aloha Hawaiian BBQ.
Passion Fruit (13% ABV) Tart and semi-sweet, this Passion Fruit Mead is a delicious summertime in any realm, and so we labored long and hard to create this amazing Passion Fruit Mead. Pairs best with stuffed jalapenos, and tasty curry.
Pear (13% ABV) Spiced pear mead with nutmeg and cinnamon is truly a taste of winter. Not overly sweet and beautifully balanced. Pair with falling snow, family gatherings, and fireside cuddles.
Tangacream-cicle (13% ABV) A Tangerine mead with vanilla beans and lactose for a creamy and refreshing treat! Try it with red tea or a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
Oh Hey, Pinyon Jay (Bottles Only) (13% ABV) A collaboration with Audubon Southwest for the threatened Pinyon Jay! We added Prickly Pear and Juniper berries to give this mead a taste of this little bird's home ecosystem. Pairs great with hikes in the Pinyon juniper wilderness!
Doc Holliday (13% ABV) Huckleberry Mead. Mosey on up to the Mead Hall bar and grab this unique berry delight. Slightly floral, slightly juicy, all Huckleberry. Pair with some Proper Meats wings or their fried chicken Wednesdays!
Cranberry (13% ABV) Very tart! Enjoy this semi-dry, still cranberry mead with your favorite holiday feast. It pairs well with holiday food (turkey!), family, friends, and pets!
Acai (13% ABV) Hard to say, easy to drink. This semi-sweet, still mead has a mix of flavor experiences from blackberry to blueberry to pomegranate.
Unicorn Blood (13% ABV) Tart lemon and sweet raspberry make this an instant favorite! The complexity of flavors pair wonderfully with any sweet meats or decadent sandwiches.

Metheglin (13% ABV) Semi-dry, we ferment orange blossom honey, with orange peels, black tea, and cinnamon. The herbs come from our fine friends at Potion Tea and Bakery right here in Flagstaff. This mead is delightful cold and delicious warm. Pairs best with sugar cookies, smoked meats, and snowy days in front of the fire. Great to add to hot or cold black tea.

Dragon Mead Series
(Limited Availability)
Falkor (13% ABV) The first of four in our Dragon series. Apricots are fermented along with the honey with Snow Dragon white tea added after. Fruity and earthy, Falkor is a mead to please the masses.
Smaug (13% ABV) The combination of Miombo honey, Red tea, and vanilla beans create this earthy yet savory smooth tea mead. A mead as unique as the gold hoarding dragon but with more of a sweet side!
Toothless (13% ABV) Yuzu fruit gives a citrusy, grapefruit touch while earl grey black tea adds an earthy punch. Playful but foundationally solid, just like its namesake dragon!
Elliott (13% ABV) This Dragon Tea mead has Jalapeno, pineapple, and matcha green tea for an experience to match Pete’ friend; mostly sweet but with a spicy side. I mean hey, he is still a dragon!
